House, introduced a resolution advocating the United States recognition of the Chinese Nationalist Government, and also the United States participating in a revision of the treaties between China and the other Powers.

Sir Herbert Ames suggestion that Premier King attend the next assembly of the League of Nations, has been endorsed by the central executive of the League of Nations Society in Canada. It is believed here the Premier will go.

MINISTER’S EVIDENCE. (Received this day at 9.30 a.m). OTTAWA, May 18. W. J. Egan (Minister of Immigration) refuted the graft charges in connection with immigration permits. Before the inquiry, ho stated of 3061 permits issued, 2900 were sponsored by members of Parliament. None did so for gain, and not one officer in the Department received one cent. The Department had discovered attempts to uso bogus permits and not one passed the officers. The matter was placed in the hands of the mounted police and one man was apprehended. He had received complaints iu two instances where money had been taken for permits.
