MAN HIT WITH AXE
A TARA.MOCR ARRESTED. (By Telegraph—Her Tress Association.) DUNEDIN, Afay 18. At four oVlock this morning a woman, aged 28. walked into North Dunedin police station ami reported she had attacked a man with an axe. The police went to a house at IG2 King Street and there found Charles Wilfred Waldron, a married man, 33, sitting on a bed with his head badly injured. The bed was covered with blood and Waldreii’s injuries were being tended l>v a relative. The man was removed to the hospital with one ear cut off and other severe head injuries.
An argument is reported to have caused the assault.
The. woman was charged at the Police Court this morning with assaulting Waldron so as to cause actual bodily harm. Her leit eye was blackened. A week's remand was granted and her name suppressed in the meantime. Bail was refused as the police stated the man lying in the hospital was ■’’unconscious. Accused was a married woman, separated from her husband, and was living with Waldron.
