FALCON ISLAND.. AUCKLAND, May M. On April 17th the Tutanekai, <»: route from Auckland to Samoa, passed cjose to Falcon Island, which has disappeared and reappeared several times sines it was discovered as a breaking reef by 11.M.5. Falcon in 1860. When seen front the Tntanekai last month it was about 550 ft high, about two miles long, and . composed entirely of a lava flow which was running into the sea and sending up clouds of steam.
