BOXING.

(Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, May 15. Tlie published announcement to-day that the New Zealand Boxing Council would welcome a visit from an Australian team hut not from a mere State team as suggested from Queensland, was the subject of comment bv Mr F. G. Underwood, Secretary of the Australian Boxing Union, who stated no such tour could he arranged except through the Boxing Union, therefore, Queensland’s proposal was unauthorised. Underwood, however, is convinced a tour by an Australian team would do immense good and if New. Zealand sent an invitation it would receive favourable consideration.
