EARTHQUAKE in JAPAN. NEW YORK, May 15.
News from Manchester. New Hampshire. states: ‘‘A radio message, received here, believed from Iwakai, Japan, reports an, earthquake in the remote Nishifutamu region. At least 100 lives have been last, and communication is cut off .
QUAKE IN EQUADOR. QUAYAQIL (Equador) May 15. .Many buildings were damaged h.v an earthquake here. Tlie streets are littered with portions of structures. The people tied from the buildings m terror.
MADMAN IN MID-AIR. PONTIAC (Michigan). May IT. Harry Anderson, a commercial pilot, while!'.'searching for a landing field, was attacked by- an apparently insane passenger, who struck' him on the head with a hammer. Anderson was stunned. The plane nose-dived, hut the pilot righted it close to tlie ground. The plane was demolished, hut the passengers were not injured. The passenger elicl not explain his action. Tlie plane landed on the property of an insane asylum.
