FOOTBALL.
WEST COAST RUGBY UNION. The weekly meeting was held last evening' at G-rovmouth.
The referees' reports were submitted anil considered satisfactory. It was resolved that a Kiwi player in last Saturday’s match he severely cautioned for rough play.
The Puller Sub-Union wrote requesting a match for June 4th.
It was decided that a.s this date would clash with the seven-a-side tour, noy, a suggestion be made that the Bui lor match take place on June 23rd. or 30th.
The Innngahua Sub-Union notified the Executive of the appointment of Mr T. Irving as representative on the West Coast Selection Committee. It was agreed to receive delegates from the Westland .Sub-Union in conference next Tuesday.
It was decided to promote a Wall on September 12th. on the occasion of the visit of the New Zealand team. Messrs Scott, Jones and I. Steel were appointed a sub-committee to go into ways and means.
It was resolved to request the Westland Sub-Union to he more punctual in future in placing teams on the field.
The following fixtures were approved for next Saturday: Stars v. Kiwis at Hokitika at .3 p.m. (Mr W. Kearns); United v. Excelsiors at Park at 3 p.m. (Mr W. Williams).
