Tim min Tiiaiik i)nriti>sr.i>. The timber trade in Australia is not vet within sight, of turning the earner, according to Mr A. Goldie, of Auckland, who. with Airs Goldie, returned on the Niagara alter two months holiday in the Commonwealth. .Merchants yards are heavily overstocked with Oregon timber, and so far as Air Goldie could ascertain there was no market for any of the considerable New Zealand surplus. Many of the merchants were selling below post, and the market was dull all round. Mr Goldie said there appeared to he a fair .amount of building going on in the suburbs, but as most houses were of brick the timber trade did not benefit to any extent. *
