AYintcr racing opened with tiie first day’s programme of the Egmont Steeplechase meeting to-day in sunny weather, before a large attendance. The track was firm and in excellent order for racing between the flags. ’I he tntalisalor . handled L 15.355 (an increase of £1,12:1) compared with £17,2:12 on the corresponding day last year. Results:—

Tonga licie Hurdles.—ill) Mister Gamp 1, (1) Mount Marta 2, pi) Vexatious 3. Won by eight lengths; one and a-lmll lengths. Time 3.15. Telegraph Hack Handicap.—(l) Keddar 1, (2) Miss -Mercia 2, (3) Desert Lad 3. Won by two lengths; a bead. Time 1.15). Hack Steeplechase.—<4) San Bern 1 (3) Royal Heather 2, (Oi Son o’ Mine 3. Won by three lengths; half a head. Time 5.5.
