Daylight saving was discussed by tlie Waikato Sub-Provincial Farmers’ Union when the branch was asked to take steps to circulate a petition against the measure for presentation to Parliament. AD-. Henderson said ho considered the Summer Time Act had so many points in its favour that he did not think it should he wholly condemned. On the average dairy farm it was not much of a disadvantage. On his own farm it had worked very well, and he had spoken to ninny other dairymen who found it no hardship. Air Ramsay said that while perhaps it made little difference to I lie farmer it made a lot of dilferouce. to the farmers’ wile and kiddies. The position taken up by a certain section of the farming community in Taranaki was one-sided and unreasonable.

SEXUAL CASES. PALMERSTON N.. Al;iy 0. Keith Drysdale. 20 years of age, was bund guilty of indecent assault on a rirl under sixteen at Levin. He was sentenced to three months’ hard abour.
His Honour refused probation, stating that for the virility of the race, it was necessary to protect young girls from contamination. A short, sharp sentence would do accused a lot of good, and he a lesson to others.
