FOOTBALL.

At the West Coast Rugby Union meeting held at Greymouth last night tlie referees’ reports were read and received. Tho- Chairman reported on tho conference of Seddon Shield Unions, and it was agreed to advise tho New Zealand Union that tlie West Coast Union agrees to tho amended charges. The Otira Club nominated a junior team, which was accepted. The -Magpie Club were allowed to withdraw their senior team from the competition. Four of its players, Barrow, Gibbons, S. Hayden and H. Seebeck, were reclassified from senior to junior, while other players wore given permission to play for Star and United Clubs. F. J. Groufsky’s application for readmission to thcr code was granted. H. Cournbe was reclassified from senior to junior. It was resolved to write Canterbury and South Canterbury Unions re sending rep teams to tho Coast this year. The Chairman reported that tho All Blacks and the Southland Union’s reps would play matches in Greymontli. It was resolved that tlie senior competition now lie four rounds, and that the points gained against Magpies be cancelled. Saturday’s .senior fixtures are: Stars v. United (Air Mclntosh); Kiwis v. Excelsiors (Air Perry).

The sick members have fully recovered from the effects of the strange malady which they contracted on the trip from Sydney to Hobart. Hard training has been carried out at tlie ports, and physical jerks are practiced. The team takes a daily routine. on board ship. At Adelaide the All Black team played tlie Euripedes representatives at both cricket and soccer. The All Blacks won the cricket match by an innings. They won the soccer match by four goals to two. Tlie team are eager to cancel their first- match, as it is thought that two days is not enough time for them to find their land legs and to make their final arrangements.
