News from Middleton (Ohio), states •that! although heavily armed guards are pah filling tlic.t tily, there is a fear of mob violence as the result of the kiliiug of two white policemen in a battle with some negro bootleggers. which also resulted in the death of one of the negroes.
The policemen detected negroes fining bottles with “moonshine’’ in a gravel pit The negroes opened fire, and a gun battle resulted.
