ADOINCTON STOCK SALES. CHRISTOIIUROM. May 3. At the weekly stock sale at Addington Yards yesterday most lines were firm with some improvement in prices. Fat cattle—The yarding comprised 360 bead. The quality was good. Many station lines were forward, t ow beef was easier. Steers sold : Extra £ls 5s to £l9. prime £l3 to £l4 15s. medium £lO to £ll 10s. Cows: Heavy £ll 10s to £l2 loe, prime £8 to £9 15s, medium £0 10s to £7 10s, heifers, heavy £ll 10s to £l3 10s, prime £9 to £lO 10s. medium £7 to £8 ss. Calves—. There was a very la "go entry comprising mostly station

suckers. Prices were easier. Medium and inferior sorts were hard to quit. Best calves fetched Co to £8 Is. medium £3 5s to £3 17s Od. fair 27s 6(1 to £3. small 15s to 255.

Fat sheep—There was a medium yarding, mostly of wethers. The market opened firm, with a slight advance towards the close. Prime wethers brought 33s Gd to 40s 6d, medium 30s to 335. lighter down to 275. Prime ewes sold at 27s Od to 375, medium 24s to 275, lighter 19s 6d to 235. inferior down to 10s.

Climbs —-Fat lambs were in good supply, 3000 being forward. There was keen competition. Prices were above the schedule rates. Two lilies Irotn the West Coast sold up to 33s lOd. Prime lambs fetched 30s to 33s lOd, extra fo 37s lOd. medium 28s 6d to 29s 9d, light 26s 6d to 28s. Store sheep.—There was a fair entry. but it was mostly culls and backward sorts. Good lines were firmer. Best ewe hoggets sold at 25s to 29s 6d, others £1 to 24s 9d. Rape lambs fetched 2.3 s to 255. inferior 17s to 21s, culls i2s to 16s. 111 adult stores the bulk of tbe entry was wethers. These bad a dragging sale. A\ ethers sold at 27s Id to 325, ewes to 33s 3d. odd lots ISs 9d to 24s 6d, Pigs—There was a very la rgc entry in all departments. Choppers sold at£2 to £3 15s, baeoners £3 to £3 10s, heavy £3 15s to £4 10s. extra heavy to £5 os. Porkers fetched 42s to 525, heavy to 555. Sore pigs sold as follows: —Weaners 5s to 11s, small stores 12s- "to 15s. large 15s to 245, extra to 30s.
