TRANSFERS AND PROMOTIONS

WELLINGTON, May 1

The following transfers and promotions in the New Zealand Police Force were announced to-day by the Commissioner of Police (Mr W. B. Mcllvency):—

Senior-Sergeant P. J. O’Hara transferred from Dannevirko to Christchurch, replacing the late SeniorSergeant Lewis. Sergeant S. J. Martin, transferred from New Plymouth to take charge at Dannevirko.

Sergeant T. 1. McGregor transferred from Christchurch to New Plymouth.

Sergeant F. Hammond, of Auckland, to take charge of the Ponsonby station, replacing Sergeant Watermain who has retired.

Sergeant L. E. Capp, of Auckland, to take charge of he Dargnvillo station, replacing Sergeant Griffiths who has retired.

Sergeant G. IT. Lumber, of Auckland, to take charge of the Otalniliu Station, replacing Sergeant Parsons, who has retired. Constable P. Boyle, of To Awanmtu, promoted to sergeant and transferred to Auckland; Constable Bruce Thompson, of Ellerslie, promoted to sergeant, and remains in Auckland; Constable S. G. Cli.st, of Tancatua, promoted to sergeant, and transferred to Auckland; Constable J. Martin, of Napier, promoted ,to sergeant and transferred to Chrischurch; Constable J. Abel, of Luinsdeii, promoted to sergeant and transferred to Invercargill, replacing Sergeant Hewitt, who has been transferred to the Detective Branch in (hat town; Constable F/. Burnett, of Coromandel, promoted to sergeant, and transferred to Auckland ; Constable F. O. Harrison, of Patutalii Station. Gisborne, promoted to sergeant, and transferred to Christchurch; Detective J. Thompson transferred from Christchurch to the Detective Office, Wellington; Constable 11. -McKay, ol Addington, to take charge of (lie new suburban station at North Now Brighton, Christchurch.
