Australian Press Assn.—United Service INDECENCY CHARGE. LONDON, May 2. Sir Leo Chiozza -Money and Irene Savage were charged with indecency in Hyde Park. Sir l.eu ( hiozza Money, at .Marlborough Court, denied the police allegations. The hearing ol the ease was adjourned.
CHARGE DISMISSED. (Received this day at 10.15 a.m.) LONDON. May 2. Following on Sir Chiozza .Money's evidence, the Magistrate stopped the ease, which lie dismissed, awarding ten guineas costs against the police. Sir C. .Money gave evidence that he had known .Miss Savage Inr eighteen months. She was ol unquestionable reputation and was engaged to he married. They i'reqtienly wem to ihealrcs together. On the night nn-iii iuiu-d in the charge they had dine i in the West End and walked to the Park and had been sitting in adjoining chairs for ten minutes, when a plain clothes policeman. appealed and suddenly made a charge. They were roitghlv handled en route to the point- station.
The .Magistrate said the explanation of the police why they had tailed to obtain available evidence failed to satisfy him. Anyway lie could not help thinking that in such cases, police in charge of stations should send reports to headquarters for the coiiisiderption of the Com.niissio.ner. If that had been clone the present case would not have been brought.
