ROSS NEWS.

ANOTHER EIRE. (By ' Arence.’) The firebells rang out another alarm of fire on Afondav night about 11 o’clock. The outbreak was found to 4>e in the barn of Air James Jones. Borough Foreman, in Tramway St. The Fire Brigade were promptly on the scene and did good work, but the barn and the contents, a full stock of hay. were destroyed, and also the pig-stye adjoining, the pigs just being removed in time. Last year Air Jones’ barn was found on fire, mysteriously, but prompt measures saved it. (From Our Own Correspondent). OUTBREAK OF FIRE.

Shortly alter 12. o'clock on Alnnday morning the firebells sounded an alarm when it was found the police residence in Afoorhouse St. was ablaze. The fire had a. big bold when discovered but the Brigade were promptly on the scene and with two leads of lio-e with over lOfilbs pressure soon bad the fir© under control, but not before considerj i.l :Ic* damage was clone*. Two rooms at flie back were practically gutted, and the rest of the house suffered badly from water and smoke.

The building has been unoccupied for several weeks owing to the change taking place in the police force. Tlie lire started in a porch at the roar of the building and there is not much doubt o-f it being a case of incendiarism.

ANOTHER FIRE. Another lire took place last evening. the firebells ringing the alarm shortly after 11- o’clock.

The Brigade were again prompt but the fire was to: far advanced to save much. The lire this time was in Tramway St. where a barn filled with hay made good burning, tlie ham and contents belli ' a complete loss. The property belonged to Air J. .Jones, and the contents were the whole oi his winter feed for his stock, so his loss is considerable. although lie carried seme insurance. Several years ago Air Jones suffered a similar loss when lie lost a shed ot hay by lire. This, evidently, is another case of incendiarism. The police are at present making clcse enquiries and probably more will be heard of the matter later.
