DUNEDIN, April 29,

About 5000 people witnessed a contest between Reekie, feather champion of New Zealand, and Gillespie, feather champion of Australia, in the Drill Hall last night. The contest went the full fifteen rounds, and Leckie won hy a small margin nI points. Reekie held an advantage in the open fighting, hut Gillespie showed up excellently. The Australian was the stronger man at the close work. The bout was recognised as one of the best ever seen at Dunedin. The gate receipts totalled £7OO.

BOXING GATE. DUNEDIN, April 30. Reekie, who heat Gillespie on Saturday. broke his nose on Friday night when sparring. Saturday night’s gate was £OOO.
