Nelson Wright, is leaving (hristehurclt shortly to take up residence in Hokitika, was the recipient of a presentation from mem.'Vrs of the play-reading circle of the Canterbury ■ Women's Club, of which very active circle Mrs Wright has been one of the most enthusiastic and valued members. Miss Alexander spoke appreciatively of the part played by Mrs Wright in the circle’s activities, and greatly regretted her departure from Christchurch. On behalf of the members she presented Mrs Wright with a handsome hand-bag. Mrs S. C. Owen referred to Airs Wright’s adaptability and to tlie fine 1 spirit of good-fellowship she had al- I ways shewn in the circle, and wished ; her great happiness in her now homo , Mrs Wright feelingly responded.
