A complaint has reached us in regard to the Kokatahi-Koiterangi mail last week. It. appeal's that Wednesday being An/ac Day, the mailman did not come to Hokitika, hut he brought the mail on the Thursday morning instead. On going tn the Post Office in the afternoon for the outward mail the service is thrice weekly Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) he was informed there was no mail for him to take out. As a result Knkatahi Valiev residents did not receive any mail Irom the Monday until Friday evening. Ihe complaint appears to he worthy of cnquii\ by tbo authorities with a view to prevention of the inconvenience on a similar occasion.

It is lawful for a motor vehicle to be left without lights at night, provided that the vehicle is lighted by a permanent light erected by a local body. Attention to the regulation was drawn by Mr (’. IF Orr-Walker. S.M.. at the Magistrate’s Court, Christchurch, on Friday, when a motorist was charged with leaving a tar without lights at night.
