Mr Coates expressed mnlitlenee in the team selected, adding: “We know you will he all oul to win. that you will stive of your best and that you will never let New /.calami down.” The team was also given a send-off |,y the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, and also a civic farewell by the Mayor of Wellington, Mr G. A. Troup.
