With .lack Unit and Hetty .Jewel in the principal parts, the cast of "The .Mysterious Rider,” coniine to the Princess Theatre on Friday is one of the .strongest Paramount has evc,r "icon the popular Zune drey’s stories. Holt )da,vs Rent Wade, "the mysterious rider.” who lights to save the homesteads of the desert, ranchers from illegal seizure, and Hetty Jewel is Dorothy Kino, daughter of the city financier, who falls in love with the out-of-doors man. The villain is Cliff I darkness, played hy Charles f-ellon, and the role of his henchman, Tom Saunders, falls to Ivan Christie. Tom Kennedy, who clicked so well in "W’e’re ill the Navy Now.” and " Behind the Front. ’’ has a comedy role, and Guy (•liver and Jane Kecldey, two veteran character players, sustain the pathos element of the story. Arthur Hoyt has one of the "shrimp” parts lor which he is distinguished, this time playing the secretary to .Mark Kino, linancier. who is personilietl hy David Torrence. Albert Hart plays the sheriff. and some clever children and character players carry the important "hits” of the production. Much of the picture was taken oil the Mojave desert, where the company spent two weeks on location. The usual supports will also he shown, including a fine comedy.
