The Daily Mail correspondent at Perpignan says the finding of a bomb tit the Municipal (las Works at Rivefcaltes, the manager of which is a notorious Communist, who was recently imprisoned for contempt of court, enabled the police to discover a Communist munition depot, believed to he intended to’ supply terrorists planning outrages on a vast scale in Italy, Spain and South France. The sen veil of the house of a Communist agitator, Maeary, revealed several pounds of blasting powder, detonators, cartridges and fuses. It is believed Communists have removed munition dumps, several of which were suspected in the district. The police are of the opinion the bomb was plated in the gasworks to avenge a comrade's imprisonment. They describe Rivesaltcs as a red city and apparently the Comuiuuist headquarters.

General lloffer, Commander of Upper Silesia rising said Silesia had to help itself since the Allies would not intervene. Hundreds of volunteers gave their lives for the Republic. The times were such that human life was undervalued. The Prussian Government asserts the Breslau office was unaware of any executions. *

PARIS, April 23. One hundred and seventy-five candidates were elected in the first ballot. Of these there are 72 Democrats and Republicans, 41 Left Republicans. Id Radicals Republicans, 10 Radicals Socialists. 4 Hopubicun Socialists, 14 Socialists, •13 Conservatives. No Communists are left in tlie second ballots for the remaining seats, which take place on 2f)tb April. A majority of the successful candidates have declared themselves supporters of the Government's policy.
