AMUSEMENTS.
EVERYBODYS PICTURES. I’A ULIXE STARKE TO-NIGHT. A poignant drama, set in surround-m-s that spell joy, revelry and the pleasures ot the idle* rich—this is tile paradox in ” Women Love Diamonds,” the remarkable new screen drama to lie shown at the Princess theatre to-night. H is set in fashionable apartments and millionaires’ estates; it shows the outward ioy of the life of the idle richami tnen—what a tragedy! Pauline Starke scores a triumph in the new picture, in the role oi a gi r] .facing the most terrilie prohicni that ever fell to the lot oi a woman. Its emotional possihihtes make her role outstanding and her handling of it is artistry personified. Owen .Moore plays the hero, injecting his whimsical humour and human understanding into a difficult acting part as the chauffeur-lover in a strange tangle of human destinies. Douglas Fairbanks, jnr., and Lionel Barrymore are two other bright spots in the constellation of celebrities in til" hew picture. Cissy Fitzgerald as the mother, and Owen l.ee as the fashionable daughter have remarkably fine roles, which they handle with rare skill, and Oeorge Cooper lias an important part.
