(By Telegraph—Per Press Association. BIG STATION SOLD. GISBORNE, April 21. The large station property of Tangihau. 32 miles from Gisborne, comprising 15.15(5 acres, with 18,000 sheep and 1900 cattle, was offered at auction today. The bidding started with tut offer of €lll.OOO, and, after a pause, a hid of £115,000 as put in on behalf of the mortgagee, the Bank of Australasia to whom the property was knocked clown.
FORGER CAUGHT. DUNEDIN. April 21. Two atempts to make easy money in Dunedin by a young motor driver, Albert. Smelt, by forging cheque's for £2O and £25, in tbe names of a school insjxx-tor and a hotel-keeper respectively. led to his appearance in Court. He pleaded guilty and was committed to tbe Supreme Court for sentence.

Saturday evening: An anti-cyclone is still over tbe Western Tasman Sea. but it is losing intensity. There is a dbiep depression south of Chatham Islands. Forecast: Setts moderate to strong, but decreasing south of New Plymouth and Castlepoint; smooth to moderate elsewhere. Moderate to strong south-westerlies mid moderate to rather rough seas in the eastern half of the Ta.smau Sea. Weather still cloudy in North Auckland. Westland and Otago, and at isolated places elsewhere, with some further showers, butt improving, and otherwise fair to finte. Coo] (temperatures, with some frost inland in the South Island. Sunday evening report : A moderate anti-cyclone is still situated over the Notrliern and Western Tasman Son. Tile southern depression is now passing gradually away eastward. Forecast: South westerly winds still strong at times in Foveaux Strait, but elsewhere light to fresh. Seas rather rough from Cook Strait, but decreasing to moderate wind in the northern portion anil moderate to fresh in the southern portion, with rather rough but decreasing seas. Weather cloudy at times in districts with westerly aspects, and in Southern Otago, with scattered light showers, but mainly fair to fine, with cool temperatures.

A YOUTH’S THEFTS. GISBORNE. April 23. At the Police Court, a youth employed at Opotiki P»st Office, whose name the Magistrate suppressed, pleaded guilty to two charges of theft of money banded him in payment of telephone accounts. Ho was admitted to probation for. twelve months.
DEATH ENSUES. AUCKLAND. April 23. Wm. Scott died at the hospital from injuries- sustained when thrown from a cart at Eden Terrace on Wednesday when a wheel went over his neck. YOUNG MAX DROWNED. WAEROA. April 23. A young single man. Harry Tapper, returning from dber-stalking across Lake Wniknremona late last night, while filling the benzine tank on the launch, overbalanced and fell overboard and was drowned. His body has not been recovered. Deceased was the son of a well-known Waikaremoana settler.
