Valparaiso made the early running and at the mile was two lengths in front, Piastoon and Beonui next. At the distance Beonui and Vaals headed Valparaiso. Won by two lengths. Time 2.184, a course record.

Trainer Jones, with Limerick and Zaragoza, sailed for New Zealand yesterday. .Sir Bosebcrry, who broke down after arrival, has been sold to a South Australian sportsman. The price was not stated.
The imported Linaerc, an outstanding Australian sire, has died.
