A souvenir has been prepared by the controlling committee, ami will he distributed free of charge to subscribers who take part in the wonderful assembly which "ill he one ol the greatest and grandest religious lum-tious in Australia’s history. The souvenir
takes the loim of a loose leal portfolio I Detaining letterpress and separate plates of engravings, those being beautifully executed colour portraits ol eminent prelates. Australasian and European, headed by the Pope and ( ardinal Cerretti the full pomp and splendour of pontilicial and episcopal vestments. There is also a three-colour reproduction of the Congress banner, with the set prayer for success ; as well its a
view of Sydney Harbour trom a paint ing by Erik Langker.
The letterpress by learned priests gives an interesting history of t Ingrowth of the international Eucharisti ( ongress from the germ planted over liltv years liv Marie 'iamisier. that humble and holy-minded Ereiiehwoman, affectionately remembered as " the beggar-woman of fhe lilessed .sat lament.” Other articles tell the story of Australia as a mission lie Id. and ol the beginning and growth ol the ( atholii ( htireli in Australia ; and the production as a whole present- in unique and artistic form, an opportunity to preserve a literary and pit torial memento of a historical devotional gathering.
Designed, set up and printed entirely in Australia, the souvenir is evidence that in art craftsmanship we are worthy of a place in the foremost line. Smith' and •Ittlius and Green Press of Sydney are -responsible for design and printing, and Bacon and Co. for the hloc-k work.
