The jury acquitted Sinclair in the , riminal and civil court actions arising out of Teapot Dome scandals and by its verdict rejected the unanimous decision of United States supreme court of appeals, that the Teapot Dome transactions bad been fraudulent and corrupt. The jury was out less than two hours and at no time was there danger of a verdict of guilty, only one or two jurors having slight difileulty to make up their minds.
The verdict caused great surprise and it is now undecided whether Fall who was co-defendant with Sinclair will bo tried on the same charges of fraud. Senator Norris said. —“AAV ought, to pass a law that no man worth a liundi .si million dollars should L" tried for
crime. Senator Nye said.—“AVu cannot- or vict a millionaire.''
