REPLY TO QUESTIONS. A.uFtralian "Press Assn.—United Service LONDON. April 19. In the Commons Mr Johnson and Hon. dynes closely questioned Air Baldwin in reference to Birkenhead’s post, Mr AY. Churchill’s forthcoming articles in a magazine in view of -Ur Baldwin’s ban against ministers mining for the press. Mr Baldwin [minted out that he had always distinguished between journalistic articles on controversial questions and literature historical or philosophical writings also between contributions to the daily and weekly press and in hooks and magazines. Mr Churchill had undertaken

Birkenhead s 1 *h?cent articles dealing with the position of women certainly touched the fringe of current controversy and in a. sense was different trom the general view of the Government, hut was only pan isolated chapter froth books that Birkenhead was writing. The worst ho could say was that Birkenhead \\ as guilty of an error of judgment.
