The recent Hood in South Westland also took toll of Waikukttpa bridge, south of Wailie, two of the spans going. This is a serious interruption to wheel traffic in the far south, as there is a rough ford to contend with. Ihe less of the bridge will also hamper Messrs Sullivan Bros in the erection of the new hostelry at AAchckn, as there will be delay and interruptions in getting building material through. When Mr Furkert is in the district at the week end the necessity for expedition in restoring the structure will he brought under his notice,
