When the House met Air Lang gave notice of a motion of censure and moved to-day that the Government no longer possessed the confidence ol the House. In tho Legislative Council, the Attor-ney-General gave notice of legislation to prevent the abolition of the Upper House without a referendum to the electors.
TENNIS PROFIT. SYDNEY, April 18. At a meeting of the Council ol New Smith Wales Lawn Tennis Association it was disclosed that matches between France and Australia and the Australian championships showed a profit of C 0245.
AIOTOR CAR TRAGEDY. SYDNEY, April 18. A large motor ear plunged into the harbour early this morning. 11. Reynolds, of .Manly, who was rescued, made conflicting statements indicating a man and woman who were passengers, sank in seventeen leet ol water, hut the police have been unable to trace the bodies, although the headlights ol file ear remained alight a long time after sinking, lighting up the water and harbour bed. WRECKED STEAMER SOLD. SYDNEY. April 18
The wrecked steamer Iron Chief was sold at auction with the cargo of P 2.227 sleepers, for €550.
