were read and confirmed. On life motion of the Chairman a resolution ol sympathy was adopted to Air C. S. Neville and family and regret expressed al tlie death last.week of his lather.

The Treasurer submitted a statement ol receipts and expenses ill enimertioii with the autumn meeting held last week under very adverse weather eon ditions. The total receipts were CIOS7, and the expenses LI 25(1 7s ltd, leaving

a gross debit of (.'Kilt 7s 2d. The chief loss was on the totalisator lurmover. The taxation on the meeting payable to tlie Government was £357 2s. The statement was received and adopted. Regret was expressed at the- unfavourable result which was caused by the weather. It was tell that with more favouring conditions during the afternoon the Club would have enjoyed a successful gathering linaneially. Satisfaction was expressed at the conditions of the course in the circumstances. and tin- good work clone by the Caretaker (O. Fowler) was appreciated. The Chairman remarked that visitors bad commented very favourably cm the condition of the track despite the heavy lain throughout the afternoon.

Appreciation was expressed, also, to those gentlemen who had assisted with the official duties during the afternoon, owing to some of the officials being absent. It was decided to consider at tlie annual meeting tlie matter of increasing the number of stewards owing to the manifold duties now falling on those officials. A special vote of thanks was passed to the ladies who had assisted with the tea rooms in the usual ready manner.

A report from the racecourse in-per tor was received and ordered to be for warded to the District Committee.

It was intimated that the Stipendiary Steward (Mr Carryi had imposed several fines for minor breaches ol the rules, and it was resolved in view ol the circumstances of the alternoon t*> favour tlie remission of the tines and to recommend the District Committee accordingly. Messrs .T. S. Langford and G. Rowley wove elected members of the Club. ihe Secretary reported necessary repairs to the racing track were being carried-out. and that the Caretaker would continue the widening as the circumstances permitted.
