LIMA, April 14Ten people were killed in tt series of earthquakes in the Arcquipa department of Southern Peru, lasting four days. FIRE DISASTERS. NEW PORK, April 14. At west plains (Missouri) thirtylive people were killed, and sixteen seriously injured, as the result of a fire and an explosion which wrecked a dance hall late on Friday. The ground floor of the building was used as a garage, and it is believed that a largo tank exploded. OTTAWA, April 14. At Winnipeg, five people are dead, and a dozen are injured, as the result of a blaze at Costa Lomu, in a combined business and apartment- block. There were one hundred persons in the building. Many thrilling rescues were made bv firemen.

I-rom Tokio they arrives! at Athens at (3.3!) to-night. They arc ’ expected lo reach Paris on Saturday night-, after covering both Asia and Europe in sixdays. On Sunday and Monday last they covered 2.500 miles, oil Tuesday they went 1,3(30 miles, on Wednesday 1,520 miles, and on Thursday they flow 1000 miles. These flights represent an almost superhuman effort. Their route to Marsiolld-i to Paris will be [licked out with searchlights. Elaborate precautions arc being taken at Lo llourget to protect, the airmen from the enthusiastic crowd. \ great reception is being planned, in which the Government will participate. An amusing feature is that Lieut, ennui Lebrix has overstayed his leave, but his reniarkalile preforinane'e is likely lo wipe out any Naval breach. ATHENS, April 14. Captain Costex and Dient. Lebrix. who arrived here from Aleppo, have happed off for Marseilles. PARIS, April 14. The Frenchmen. Captain Coxtes and Lieut. Lebrix arrived at Marseilles, on the completion of their world flight. Paris is preparing a tremendous reception for them. POLAR- FLIGHTS. ITALIAN AIRSHIP STARTS. ROME. April 14. (Dhnicl Nobile’s airship “Italia.” left Milan to-day for the island of Spitsbergen, in the Arctic*. MILL’S PLANK RETURNS NORTH. AUCKLAND. April 15. Mr I). Mill, who left ’Wellington on in his ninth aeroplane, accompanied by a passenger, was compelled to make a forced landing at Kawbia owing to weather conditions. Mr Millpiiade a good landing on the bench without mishap. He* continued his flight In Auckland this morning, and reached liis own flying ground in time for lunch, after a very humpy journey owing to the prevalence of air pockets.
