In denouncing certain Canadian Public men for criticising the Australian Treaty. Cliirman Tomlin, at the annual meeting of British Columbia Branch of Canadian Manufacturers' Association, said the Association favoured a pact as well as negotiations for similar treaties in other parts of the Empire wherever possible. The Royal assent has been granted the Financial Agreement Rill to ratify the financial agreement between the States and the Commonwealth last year. Certain phases of the agreement involving changes in the constitution cannot he put into effect until submitted to referendum by the people which will he taken simultaneously with the Federal general election.
