EVERYBODYS PICTURES. “THE -MAX UPSTAIRS”—TO-NIGHT The Princess Theatre will feature this evening “The Man Upstairs,” a Warner liius. Classic of Screen, released by Master Pictures. Monte Blue, popular film star, plays Geoffrey West, alone in London and in search of romance. Dorothy Devore plays Marian Barnard, in search of adventure. Through the medium of the “ agony ” or “ persona ” column of a daily newspaper, the two young people become acquainted. To gratify her love of excitement. West sends her a series of letters describing a mysterious murder which is purely imaginary. She decides to turn the joke on him and gives his letters to the. police, and he is sent to prison for a murder which took place only in his imagination. When Marian decides that he has had enough thrills out of prison, she reveals the plot and he is freed to begin bis romance with her. K. T. I .owe, .Jr., adapted the Earl Derr Riggers story to the screen and Roy Del Ruth directed. Tho remainder ol the cast of "The Man Upstairs” includes lleinie Conklin. .John Roche, Helen Dunbar, live .Southern, Stanley Taylor, Otto Hoffman. Carl Stockdale, and Arthur Tlmlaso.
