Race train connections are possible to Hokitika from all stations on the Westland section, anil also for the return journey the same day.
Tho Westland Boeing Club’s autumn meeting takes place on tho Hokitika racecourse on Thursday. The course and appointments are in first class order for the meeting, and with the record entries received, there should he a very successful gathering. The Railway Department has arranged n very convenient train service covering all parts of the Westland section. It will he possible for patrons to leave home in the morning, visit the races anil return home in the evening by train from as far north as Reeftmi, as far east as Otira and as far south as li ss. Kxpross liains will run from (iroymouth as usual. The Committee has made very complete arrangements for the meeting, and the presence of many Canterbury visiting horseownors and trainers should add greatly to tlie interest of the racing. The .Municipal Band will discourse a special programme during the afternoon.
