The Aleteorologictil Ollicer, Dr Kid son’s report, on the weather for Alarch mentions that drought continued in most districts throughout the north, being most serious in Nelson, Taranaki and the Western portions of Wellington Province and over a greater part of Auckland Peninsula and Hawke's Bay. ing gale force’ at times in regie Cool.: Strait and Southern Otago. There was strong westerly gales at the Chatham Island on the 2.4 th and a somewhat similar depression 30th only affect.ed southern Otago. The scarcity of water had been 1.1-difficulty difficulty in Nelson where, however tin l apple and tobacco crops were exceptionally good. UNSEAT. CHARGE. AUCKLAND, April -I.
