Major Attwood of the Royal 3[urines gave evidence that he had just finished dancing when he heard an angry voice and saw Admiral Collat'd shaking his list at the hand and talking loudly. Daniel spoke to Collard and both walked away. Everyone was staring. Later Attwood heard a report that the bandmaster had asked to lie relieved. He consequently went to Daniels and asked him to protest, against what he regarded as a reflection on the Royal Marines, and also on himself, pointing out he was most indignant and realised there would be trouble "in keeping discipline in his Mttalion it there were no protest. Cross-exar lined. he agreed that Daniel’s e^-ur,“sion “The wardroom was ailain. wi'-n indignation.” was a true reflection of the feelings at the time. The sitting briefly adjourned to permit Kimball to prepare his detence speech. DANIEL FOUND GUILTY. GIBRALTAR. April A. Commander Daniel was found guilty on all charges. The Court ordered he receive a severe reprimand and he dismissed from his ship. He remains on half pay.
