George Oliver, aged 00, a labourer, formerly of Hokitika, and Thomas O’Connor, of Martinborougli, were knocked down by a tramcar in Willis Street. Wellington, shortly before 4 o'clock on Friday afternoon. They were taken to the hospital by the city ambulance. O’Connor suffered a lacerated wound on the forehead and Oliver concussion and a lacerated wound on the scalp. O’Connor has been discharged from hospital and Oliver is reported to be progressing satisfactorily.

it is reported in Christchurch that within the next few months at least six additional new aeroplanes will arrive from England for the Wigrnm Aerodrome. At the present time, the equipment of the ’drome consists of seventeen machines. .Most of these are several years old, the only recent acquisitions being the Cluster Grebe and the DHoO ’planes. It is probable that one of the DM!) machines, which has been stripped for some time, will shortly be written off as unserviceable.

For the theft of a copy of the “Taranaki Daily News’’ at about 7 a.m. on March 2nd. last, Lancelot Goodger, drover, of Hnwern. appeared before Mr .1. S. Barton, SAL in the Magistrate’s Court, and alter evidence had been called for both sides, was convicted and lined 5s with costs Ills. The magistrate referred to the seriousness of the offence, and .stated that any further cases would not escape with nominal punishment. “I have known newspaper runners to be dismissed because of complaints like this.” said the magistrate in imposing the line.
