The (Ammons by 104 to 52 read it second time. AVadOington’s Rubber Industry Bill, imposing a levy not exceeding one-twentieth of a penny per pound on raw rubber imported into Britain for home consumption, in order to provide an income oT £15,000 yearly 'for the central research association.
Atkinson in moving the rejection said out of thirteen members of the Association eight belonged to the Dunlop group, hut it was proposed to force the whole industry to contribute to research work. Big tyre concerns would dominate the Association and learn everyone’s secrets. Sir Cunlilfo Lister m supporting the Kill, said centralised research was very important to British industries.
