CONVERSION OF A FARMER
Open confession was made by the .Minister of Industries and Commerce, the Hon. A. D. McLeod, when speaking at ATniukn, concerning a change of mind in relation to the work which is being accomplished in the factories of New Zealand. He saitl that when he Irst. fl"irptrd his portfolio ho he’d the prejudice of many men on the land who believe! tint loafing was rife among the 8909 or 10.(103 workers in our factories. “ I had the idea,” added the Minister. “ that many factories were hot-beds of loafing, but I now feel that it would do the farmers good to inspect them.” Mr Mel.eod said he had seen nearly k?verv factory in the Dominion end ]i - now knew of the splendid rn stilts wb'-b tb~” v— producing.
