STOCK .MARKET RECORD. NEW YORK, March 27. The market again smashed the record uith a total sales of 4.(>53.900 shares. Millions of dollars of paper profits were wiped out during the frenzied sesssion wlien General Motors dropped eighteen and a-lialf points. In early dealings the stock showed relatively slowly but not enough to make up for the losses. The ticker fell behind during the first, hour and never caught up. Brokers' clerks are working late hours nightly but are receiving large bonuses. SEARCH FAILS. (Received this day at 11.15 a.m.) HONOLULU. March 27. Naval vessels searching for the steamer British Hussar, report no trace of the ship and have been ordered to return to Pearl Harbour in extended formation, covering the widest possible area. A STRIKE. NEW YORK. March 27. Three hundred structural steel workers have been ordered to strike as a protest against two hundred union 'bricklayers, who withdrew recently. because .structural iron workers were operating on an open shop basis. Work was stopped on building operations valued at fifty million dollars.
