The creek lx-d is wido. hut the stream owing to late rains had gutted out a deeper channel than uoual. Owing to the wet day yesterday, ami there being no passenger*, car was returning earlier than usual. When crossing the stream, engine trouble developed, and the car was caught in the mid-waters through the breaking of a part. Cnfortunately, while repair* were in hand, and there was m> mechanical means of hauling the car to safety, the flood came down rapidly, and the heavy rain continuing. the waters continued to rise, eventually taking charge of the ear which was overturned. and ultimately left wheels uppermost. The car was damaged considerably and will be the subject for an adjustment of the insurance. A relief ear was sent south in the late afternoon, and the mail service is being continued to-day without any interruption or public- inconvenience. i Addisons have now opened a full - range of hoys’ jerseys in grey and navy.—Advt.
