Instruction is being imparted by two experts of A\. D. and 11. 0. AA ills on the culture and curing of the leaf, and arrangements are being made by that firm for the use of this tobacco in new lines at a factory in course of construction in the Hutt A alley. Providing the right varieties are grown and the requisite quality of leaf that the market demands is supplied in commercial quantities, it would appear ■ that the tobacco-growing industry Ims a promising future, but it would probably be wise to regard it as still in the initial stages in New Zealand.
