MENTAL PATIENT’S FATAL BURNS. CHRISTCHURCH. March 21. When a patient in the Sunnyside Mental Hospital, Holly May Butler aued 31, was attending to a fire on Sunday morning, her clothes caught fire and she died later from severe hums. Deceased had been an inmate since 1924. At an inquest to-day the Coroner, Mi* Young, S.M., found that th° woman had died from the effects oi severe burns, accidentally received. It was stated in evidence that Tiutler was putting coal on the fire, which she had a right to do. when her apron caught lire. She ran screaming down the ward, but was almost immediately seized by two sisters who rolled her on the floor and put blankets over her to smother the llames. She was at once given medical attention.
