EARTHQUAKK RISKS. WELLINGTON', March 21. The necessity for erecting buildings of sufficient strength to resist the stress of earthquakes, for the protection of water supplies and lor the arranging of cutting off of gas and electricity in the event of A severe shock was emphasised in an address given to the Rotary* Club by Mr C. R. Ford, of Auckland. He drew attention to the parapet walls on the top of so many buildings in New Zealand which he said would be a source of great danger in the event of a severe shock, as they would fall into the street and kill people. It was no use having a good framework unless all the materials were securely fastened together, and many projections front existing buildings would be a source of very real danger in tlie event of a severe shock being experienced.

For all purposes requiring a pure, full-ilavoured, piquant flavour, use Sharland’s Table Vinegar. In bulk or bottle. Accept no other.—Advt.
