In the Commons, Mr Baldwin replying to a series of questions relating to the future control of post offices, beam and cable systems, said neither Government. Imperial wireless or Cable conference had any previous knowledge of the responsibility for the EasternMareoni merger. He could not make a general statement ahead of the Conference’s report. AVhile the Government was ready to discuss future arrangement it was nowise committed even to the principle and reserved freedom of action regarding any proposals to transfer control of Imperial wireless services at present administered by the Government, lie could not say if the conference evidence would be puolished, till its recommendations were considered by the British and Dominion Governments.

(Received this day at 11.15 a.m.) WASHINGTON, March 22 With the "trial of corruption and dishonestly apparently broadening every day. the oil investigation continues, and the promise that Fall is now ready to tell all on the question of malfeasance of his office, may radically alter the character of the presidential campaign, which is becoming the most uncertain in the present generation of American politics. The Republicans in 1924 were frankly surprised at the oil investigations, which in no way embarrassed their presidential nspira•lons. When the Democrats re-opened the oil investigations a few months ago, some Republican leaders boasted they “would hot change- a single vote,” but the revelations of tie past few weeks have apparently not left a single ptoftiinent Republican individual untouched.
