Seenw Owen makes an auspicious return to iiie screen alter a prolonged absence, in iln* new Metropolitan picture production, “Shipwrecked,'’ which should score a decided hit when shown at the Princess Theatre to-night. She is featured with Joseph Sehihlkraut. who won screen lame by his remarkable work in Cecil ]!. Do .Mille's masterpiece, “The Hoad to Yesterday.'’ Doth artists acquit themselves with credit and to the complete satisfaction ol their admirers in this thrilling romance of the sea and tropics. Miss Owen is seen in “Shipwrecked” as an artist’s model, who, to escape the odious aitontions of designing men, flees to the west. Here again, her beauty gets her into trouble, and to save herself from a scoundrel she uses a revolver with excellent effect. She despairingly jumps off a dock in an effort to commit sui cido, hut is rescued hv a drifter who falls in love with her. The two meet aboard a clipper ship on which the model hides as a stowaway, and their siiliscrpicnl adventures are thrilling in ihe extreme. The ship is caught in a hurricane and nearly dismantled. The storm scenes have been excellently caught by the cameraman, and in ibis respect “ Ship wrecked ” as a picture stands alone in its class. The work ol the two featured players named, as well as that of the supporting cast, including .Matthew Betz, Clarence Burton. I.aslm Winter. Lionel lielmore am! Krwin Connelly, is quite praiseworthy. “ -Shipwrecked '* is decidedly a worthwhile pii tore and one that one may go far to see and heartily enjoy. The usual good supporting programme will also he presented, including topical, scenic and comedy. Coming on Monday next the lug sepcial, with Honald Column and Yilma Hanky in “ The Night of Love.’ Coming on Wednesday. -- “ for I lie Term of His Natural Life.”
