A3OINCTON STOCK SALES. CHRISTCHURCH, Alarch 14. The following is a summary or the range of prices realised at tiiis week s stock sale at the Aletropolitan market : Fat Cattle. —A comparatively small yarding comprising 382 head. The quality generally was good. i lie sale opened firm at last week’s rates, but was very irregular, but improved considerably towards the end and dosed firm. There was an average rise of 20s to 255. Prime steers realised £ls 7s Od to £l6 12s Gd, medium £l3 10s to £l4 17s Od, lighter £lO to £l2 15s, others to £8 ss. Best heifers £9 10s to £ll ss, extra £l4 12s 6d, prime £7 :10s to £8 15s, others to £0 ss, prime cows £8 5s to £lO 10s. extra to £ll 2s Od, medium £0 15s to £B, others to £4 15s. Store Cattle—A very small yarding. mostly nondescript lots and really no quotable lines offering. Fat .Sheep.—A small yarding with quality generally better than recently. There was a good sale throughout showing an average rise ol Is to Is 6d on last week's rates. Prime wethcr-s made 33s to 30s, extra to 38s 4d. medium 30s to 32s Od, others to 20s, prime ewes 24s 6d to 30s Od. extra to 36s 9d, medium 18s 0d to 23s 9d, others to 16s Od. Store Sheep.—Largest yarding this season. Considering the entry the sale must be considered a good one. There were several consignments of both ewes and lambs front the AA'est Coast. Store lambs sold exceptionally well. The best realised 21s to 24s Bd, medium 16s 6d to 20s Gd, others to 11s; best 2 tooth crossbred ewes 33s to 395, medium 28s 6d to 325, others 21s to 255: four, six and eight tooth crossbred ewes 26s to 28s 9d. medium and inferior 21s to 255, best crossbred four-tooth ewes 38s to 40s, six-tooth do to 38s: halfbred ewes 22s 6d to 24s 6d, better sorts to 28s; two-tootli halfbred ewes to 425. Several lots of Alarlborough and Sounds sheep were down.

Fat Lambs.—A very small yarding, including several AA est Coast consignments. There was a splendid sale all round which showed a further advance of Is on last week’s schedule prices, which were knocked badly. Best lambs sold up to about 355, prime 29s- 6d to 33s 6d, medium 27s to 295, lighter and graziers’ sorts 25s to 26s 0. The quality was vefy irregular. pjg S '—jßaeon.—A large yarding in-

Choppers realised £3 10s to £6 18s 6d. light pork 36s to 425. heavy pork 44s to 535; average Gd to 7d ; light bacon 55s to 70s, heavy to £4 18s 6d; average 5d to Gd. Store Pigs—A large entry, prices easier. Small weaners made 4s 6d to 7s 6d, good 8s to 10s 6d, small stores 13s to 17s. medium 18s to 235, best to 325.
