AUSTRALIAN TOUR. AUSTRALIA V. AUCKLAND. A.tJCK LAND BEATEN. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, March 12. The match between the Australian cricket team and Auckland representative side was concluded at Eden Park to-day, the visitors winning by an innings and forty runs. Australia had made 131 in the first innings, and Auckland had replied with 171. Following on last Saturday, Auckland had lost no wickets lor 20 runs. Continuing to-day Auckland was dismissed for 220. Lnngridge followed up his first innings success, contributing a \Qiy solid 78. As in the first innings, lie was not trouble by Grimmett, and faced the slow bowler with greatest confidence, but eventually fell a victim to tliis wily trumller. Bostics played a good innings for 49, but ran himself out in a most risky manner. Grimmett who did not meet with much success in the first innings, bowled exceptionally well to-day, and secured seven wickets for 91 runs. He howled 13 overs in the innings, ineludmc- 13 maidens. McNamce. who bowled on Saturday, failed to reproduce bis good form. Although lie bowled very well, he failed to get the nip of the wicket, which was so evident on Saturday. Conditions were again ideal and there was an attendance of about 2000. The gate takings for the three days were 6538 12s.
