EVERYBODYS PICTURES. ZAN'E GREY'S “THE VANISHING .HACK’ ’—TO-NIGHT. .Mi- Zanc Grey has expressed his approval oi‘ . aramount's film version of his story. “ The Vanishing Race,” which will he screened at the Princess Theatre to-night. “ After viewing the completed film,” said Mr Grey, “ I came away with one impression uppermost in my mind. It is this, that although the original story is mine, the film version has gone one better. The picture is greater than the story. What more can an author say? Words, no matter how skilfully assembled, could not match the gorgeous beauty of the scenes that unfolded before me.- That first sweeping view of Monument \ alley made me homesick. I here is strength in the movement of real objects before the eyes that cannot be equalled by cold print. I went to see this picture in a more critical state of mind than on any other occasion, because it lies particularly close to my heart. For a great many years T had wanted to write a tribute to the Red Man and “The Vanishing Race” is the result. The months that brave band of players, cameramen and technical workers spent in the wild country of northern Arizona was not wasted. No man could have given a stronger or more beautiful portrayal ol the role of the Indian hero than Richard Dix, Lois Wilson, Noah Beery and Malcolm MacGregor—all were just the people 1 pictured in my mind while writing the story.” Patrons are advised to come early to-night to secure a sent at the Princess Theatre. A topical, The Collegians, and a good comedy complete the display to-night. On Wednesday next “ The Fourth Commandment ” and on Friday next “ Steele of the Royal Mounted,” and Saturday “ Shipwrecked ’’ arc this week’s attractions.
