While walking aloii"- a street on route to her home lat ■ at night a married woman was .vi-h-ed by two men at Darlinghurst, dragged to an adjacent building flat where she was criminally assaulted by seven men. Tn connection with the deaths of children at Viillourn, rallied on Ist Ala roll, the district health officer reported the chief cause was the steamy weather, a plague of flies and insufficient precautions in preventing contamination of food, particularly milk. The report added that forty to liftv per cent of the houses in A'a 1 Inurn area were unfit for human habitation. The main contributing factor to the epidemic was itho extremely insanitary conditions of the township.
